WHAT IS PROOFREADING?
Proofreading: Headliner
Whether you’ve written a novel, a short story, a factual guide or a business report, proofreading will help your report to be accurate and well presented.

For both fiction and non-fiction, proofreading will help to provide a professional presentation to your text by checking it for errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation, and for inconsistencies in facts or the plot.

For other types of non-fiction and business writing, proofreading will also ensure that your additional content, such as tables and figures, is correct and consistent.

The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) has provided the best guide to proofreading – please use that link if you'd like to know more. This guide will tell you more details about what proofreading is, and – quite importantly – what it is not.

I’d be really happy to answer any questions that you have about how proofreading can help your writing – you can get in touch with me here.
